Description

Jason Krug provides us with the dramatic and lyrical Compassion, for three to seven octaves of handbells with optional B-flat 1 bell, and optional two octaves of handchimes. A flowing eighth note accompaniment offsets the plaintive melody, which is set first in chimes and then in bells. As the piece builds to a climax, the meter changes from duple to triple, before changing back for the quiet conclusion. This majestic opus is ideal for a Lenten service, or for general concert or worship use throughout the year.
