Description

William Payn could well be called a “mystic” when it comes to his original handbell compositions. Filled with ethereal moods and expressive harmonies that reflect the meaning and scope of each work’s title. It is the same here in this selection written in honor of one “who shared the music from her soul.” Eighth notes keep the pulse through meter and key changes, blossoming into 16th notes in one passage or exuberance. A worthy challenge.
