Description

Haydn’s familiar 4th “Surprise” Symphony springs to life in this fun piece with thumb damps or marts and echoes. Optional repeats (one with first and second endings) in both the A and B sections allow for a longer performance. Easy 8th note runs for a few ringers add some sparkle. Each 8th note pair is played within a position (a single ringer plays both of them – as in “one-and” or “three-and” – but NOT “and-four”) making them much easier to teach and master. A unison exercise page preparing ringers for required skills is included. “Surprise!” also coordinates with and supports the skills and theory learned in the “Square One” method books (RE3013R).
