Description

The arranger has set this lovely Scottish folk tune, alias hymn tune CANDLER, for 3 to 5-octaves of bells, optional handchimes and instruments in C, Bb or F. Open fifths, like a Scot piper, begin the work and then are joined by a running eighth-note ostinato and finally the melody is called for in the middle and assigned to the chimes. The middle section finds the solo instrument and bells in imitation. Separate parts for the instruments are included in the folio. Instrument parts are on pages ten through fifteen.
