Description

Level 4 • Written for the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble, this celebratory composition is suitable for concerts, festivals, and worship services. Using the Mixolydian mode, the piece opens with an antiphonal fanfare followed by a stately melody. If desired, these opening measures may be used as a processional. The second half combines a jubilant melody with a timpani-like mallet accompaniment in the bass. More fanfare flourishes, punctuated with the martellato technique, lead into the coda and bring back the bold music of the opening measures.
