Many church leaders in the 18th century wrote keyboard music, even if their job wasn’t primarily musical. Charles Wesley is best known today for his hymn texts, but here we have one of his many keyboard works arranged for handbells. The 6/8 time signature provides an excellent opportunity for teaching compound meter.
