Description

“My Paddle’s Keen and Bright – I” is based on a beloved “campfire” song, written by Canadian Margaret Embers McGee to honor the First Nations people and their love of the waterways. Embodying the essence of a native folk tune motif, the driving rhythms and haunting melody will make it one of your ringers’ favorite pieces. Fully scored for 3-5 octaves, this L2+ piece is a “Split-Level” piece which allows new or beginning ringers to easily assimilate into an established group – and allows multiple-levels/grades to perform together. In this case, 3 ringing positions are somewhat easier (B4C5, D5E5 and F5G5) at Level 1+; and a special extracted score for these ringers is included, if needed, to support them in quickly learning new skills and succeeding in ringing. Most of the small 16th-note motifs fall within ringing positions, making them much easier to master – a goal of the “Class ring” series from ringTrue.
