Get those mallets out, bass clef ringers! This setting of the American hymn tune HOLY MANNA opens with a pulsing, eighth-note bass line played entirely with mallets on tabled bells. The melody above is augmented rhythmically for an exciting effect. Later on, the accompaniment becomes march-like while the melody returns in a quicker rhythm.
