Description

This number was the Bells of the Sound 2001 Space Theme Composition Contest Winner. In the words of the composer, the piece “suggests an experience of travel to a distant galaxy – the ease of weightlessness, the vastness of space, the perils of asteroids and black holes, the splendor of the universe, and finally, drifting beyond space toward infinity.” It is a demanding piece, both in the forces required and the technical ability of the ringers. “Andromeda” sets new musical parameters for the handbell choir and the audience. A challenge worth accepting!
