In the language of the Dakota Sioux, the word “Minnesota” means “sky-tinted water.” Commissioned by the group “Strikepoint” of Duluth, Minnesota, Sky-Tinted Waters is a three-movement suite inspired by the beauty and serenity of Minnesota’s lakes. A comic vignette of fun on the frozen lake Mille Lacs, featuring those delightful Scandinavian buddies of Minnesota lore, Sven and Ole, forms the second movement. This suite will be a unique and entertaining addition to your concert repertoire.
