Amen, We Praise Your Name, O God is the translation of this Swahili title, and it will be a joyous, uplifting, yet accessible addition to Cathy’s other African pieces. Jubilant beginning and ending sections are separated by a slow, smooth section including handchimes.  Malleting is used extensively, with only a few martellatos. Accompanying percussion instruments are djembe or congas, caxixi or maracas, and shekere or other large shaker. Two compatible editions for 2-3 (CGB 1036) and 3-6 (CGB 1037) plus the full score with percussion (CGB 1035) are available, making this a perfect choice for festivals.
