A challenging arrangement that captures the excitement of the original exhilarating Morton Gould composition. American Salute was originally an orchestral composition written to be broadcast over military radio stations. It is a set of variations on When Johnny Come Marching Home and is meant to evoke military sounds including machine-gun fanfares, Morse code and a taps-like motif. The optional snare drum definitely adds a stirring flair. Optional handchimes 4 octaves.
