Description

A gentleman with the interesting name of Septimus Winner was a self-taught musician who had thousands of compositions to his credit, among them, Whispering Hope, written in 1868. The lyrics are not specifically religious – yet it appears in 48 hymnals – likely due to its lovely message of hope. Pat Hurlbutt’s handbell arrangement musically reflects the gentleness of the lyrics. Lyrical musical lines rung LV flow throughout. Handchimes are perfectly integrated to feature the melody and at times, just hint at the melody to add interest. A creative and gentle passage adding suspended bells brings this to the perfectly lovely ending.
