Description

This high-spirited Tritsch Tratsch Polka (chit-chat) was written by Strauss in 1858 and perhaps entitled ‘chit-chat’ since the Viennese people of that time apparently had a passion for gossip! Another opinion referred to a burlesque show entitled Der Tritschtratsch which was appearing on stage in Vienna. In any event, Michael created a delightful arrangement for handbells – filled with perfectly-placed stopped sounds (mallets, marts, TD) complete with a variety of dynamics. The quick tempo, grace notes, and multiple key changes will delight the audience and challenge your group. Strauss certainly would have enjoyed this setting!
